Music

Was driving home from work after a pretty manic day last friday, when Friday I'm in Love by The Cure was played and it was...arrrhhh, like a musical sigh of relief. One of those songs that you know really well, it has so many memories and is so comfortble to listen to it's literally like the aural equivalent of putting your old slippers on but because you don't own it (no not even on vinyl!) it's also like unexpectedly being given a chocolate eclair (as I was at Ashcroft yesterday).

This all made me think it was kind of a song for my soul...a bit like chicken soup (ok I'll stop the comparisons now). This in turn made me think what other 15 tracks should be on that album?

My other fantasy (as yet) album is best duets of all time...these aren't they but they'd have to be in there...

1. Mark Knopfler and James Taylor - Mason Dixon Line
2. Willie Nelson and LeAnne Womack - Mendocino County Line
3. Kate Rusby and Ronan Keating - All Over Again (no I don't know why but it's damn catchy)
4. Sheryl Crow and Kid Rock - ?
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.
11.

Any to add and I might just burn it?

Otis Redding and Carla Thomas - Tramp
Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald - Let's call the Whole Thing Off
Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney - The Girl is Mine
Shakespeare Sisters - Stay With Me (yeah, right!)

Do duelling banjos count or does it have to be vocals??

I await Tom Wade's Johnny Cash and June Carter contributions....
